PPI’s Founding President, Fred Palmerton, P.E., Receives Washington University Alumni Achievement Award

PPI’s founding President, Mr. Fred Palmerton, P.E., received Washington University’s 2019 McKelvey Engineering Award for Alumni Achievement.  Mr. Palmerton is a 1960 graduate of Washington University, with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.  He credits Washington University with providing the foundation for his long career in Geotechnical Engineering, and emphasizes how important it is for individuals to help others, as they themselves have been helped along their personal and professional pathways.

We did it again — Meet Bumblebee!

Track-mounted drill rigs have been in high demand from PPI\’s Clients.  On April 24, 2019, we had the opportunity to purchase a new 2019 CME 55-300 on short notice, and we did it!  While the new rig is not PPI red, we are happy to welcome the yellow 2019 CME 55-300 to our fleet, and hope you\’ll see Bumblebee on your Project Site soon.

PPI Participates in BUILD MY FUTURE – April 17, 2019

PPI participated in the Third Annual Build My Future event at the Springfield Expo Center on April 17, 2019.  The 2019 Build My Future event introduced over 2,700 students from nearly 80 Southwest Missouri High Schools to the Construction Trades, with a wide range of hands on activities and informational displays.

PPI\’s booth included demonstrations of Ground Penetrating Radar, Drone Technology, and \”How to Run a Slump Test\”.  The \”How to Run a Slump Test\” demonstration, performed with sand instead of concrete, was the hands down favorite of the students.

PPI Takes Delivery of a New 2019 Diedrich D50!

PPI is proud to announce the addition of a new 2019 Diedrich D50 to our subsurface drilling fleet.  The D50 is PPI\’s 5th track-mounted drill rig, and brings our subsurface investigation drilling fleet to a total of eight rigs plus the Big Beaver Auger Drill.  PPI is always grateful for our Clients and their business, and we are working hard to stay equipped to meet our Clients\’ needs.

Brandon Parrish, P.E. featured in the Missouri Engineer’s Member Spotlight

PPI’s Vice President, Brandon Parrish, P.E., is featured in the Missouri Society of Professional Engineer’s (MSPE’s) Winter 2019 Publication of the Missouri Engineer (https://mspe.org/Missouri-Engineer-Archive).  Check out page 18 of the publication for the details.

PPI is proud to be a Sustaining Organization of MSPE at the State Level, and supports our staff’s involvement with MSPE Ozark Chapter’s local missions, including MathCounts, Discover Engineering Day, the Scholarship Feed, and support of the MSU-MS&T Cooperative Engineering Program.

 

Cherokee Nation Outpatient Health Clinic Is Moving Ahead

PPI is proud to be a Team Member for the Cherokee Nation’s new Outpatient Health Clinic in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  The 469,000 square foot, $200 million Project was featured in the Winter 2018 issue of the DDC (design develop construct) Journal [CherokeeNation].

PPI services for the Project included a multi-phase  provided a multi-phase Subsurface Investigation and Geotechnical Engineering Report, Construction Materials Testing, and Third Party Special Inspection.

 

Taylor Anderson, P.E. becomes PPI’s 7th Registered Professional Engineer!

Taylor Anderson, P.E. became PPI’s seventh licensed Professional Engineer, after passing the Professional Engineering Exam in the State of Missouri on October 26, 2018.  Taylor is a Springfield, Missouri native, and joined PPI after graduating from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in December 2013.  Taylor’s areas of expertise include retaining wall design, shoring design, karst and mine feature investigation and remediation, and foundation recommendations of all kinds.

Palmerton & Parrish, Inc. (PPI) was honored as a member of the Design Team of the Year for the Prime Plaza & Driver Training Center at the Springfield Contractors Association (SCA) 2018 Salute to Design and Construction Awards Banquet on November 13, 2018.

Members of the 2018 SCA Design Team of the Year for the Prime Plaza & Driver Training Center included GHN Architects+Engineers (Architect and MEP), Miller Engineering (Structural Engineer), Lee Engineering & Associates (Civil Engineer), Palmerton & Parrish, Inc. (Geotechnical Engineer), Studio V Design (Interior Designer), Killian Construction Co. (General Contractor), and Prime, Inc. (Owner). 

PPI also wishes to congratulate Missouri State University (MSU) on receiving the SCA Developer of the Year Award.  PPI is proud to provide Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Testing, and Third Party Special Inspection Services for many of MSU\’s Projects.

PPI Project Team Wins 2017 DBIA-MAR Project/Team Award

PPI is a proud member of the Ozark Regional Road Constructors Project Team that accepted a 2017 Project/Team Award at the DBIA-MAR Awards Celebration on October 19, 2017.  PPI was the Geotechnical Engineer of Record and Construction Materials Testing Firm for the Rogersville Project Freeway Design-Build Project.

PPI’s Vice President, Mr. Brandon Parrish, P.E., accepted the award on behalf of PPI.  The Ozarks Regional Road Constructors Project Team includes: Radmacher Brothers Excavating Company, Inc., RS&H, Inc., CFS Engineers, Leo Journagan Construction Company, JLA Construction, TREKK Design Group and Hg Consult, Inc.

PPI Acquires Track-Mounted 2008 CME 55 300LC

PPI is pleased to announce the addition of a 2008 CME 55 300LC to our drill rig fleet.  The rig adds a new capability to PPI\’s fleet of 11 drill rigs: the capability to drill, sample, and core rock with Low Overhead Clearance (minimum 12-foot clearance).

PPI debuted the 2008 CME 55 on July 17, 2017.  It\’s been working hard ever since.
